ooh yes, welcome to 2005.
2004, a pretty mediocre year for me and for many too if i may assume. just when we thought the world was recovering from the iraqi debacle, 2004 puts forth a tragic ending to itself. innalillah. i heard an ad on radio that made me think. it went something like, 'if you just got fired, you're lucky. if your car broke down, you're lucky. if you just fought with your loved ones, you're lucky.' just goes to show that suffering is relative. how can i say i'm suffering in camp, when i get good food and a nice bed and blanket to sleep in? for that moment after that ad, i felt a sense of overwhelming gratefulness. why issit that most people who are already suffering get such tragedies happening to them, and the people living the good live go unscratched. what ever happened to equality. heh. i guess there's a reason for everythin.
with such an ending to 2004, 2005 promises be the year of the unexpected, but for once, i have no more academic obligations to worry about, and thats a pretty good feeling.
so if i had one resolution this year, it'll be accomplish the things i set out to do and not just say i'ma do something without doing anything. in other words, i'ma stop bein mr i'll-do-that-later-ah. with that said, happy new year people. may friendships last, and new acquaintances forged.
